Recently, the company officially signed the concession agreement for the "Kunshan Renewable Resource Comprehensive Utilization Project" with Kunshan Urban Management Bureau, obtaining the project’s franchise rights with a concession period of 30 years.
The Kunshan Renewable Resource Comprehensive Utilization Project has a total investment of approximately RMB 1.478 billion. It is designed with a daily municipal solid waste treatment capacity of 2,250 tons/day, a coordinated treatment capacity for food waste and kitchen waste of 700 tons/day (including 200 tons/day for food waste and 500 tons/day for kitchen waste), and a supporting fly ash landfill facility with a fly ash treatment scale of 90 tons/day and an effective storage capacity of 200,000 cubic meters.
The Phase I and Phase II of Weiming’s Kunshan Waste-to-Energy Project were put into operation in 2006 and 2010, respectively, with a total waste treatment capacity of 2,050 tons/day. The project has been recognized as a premium resource recycling and comprehensive utilization project in Jiangsu Province, with Phase II registered as a Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project by the United Nations. Since its operation, the project has maintained stable and efficient performance, consistently meeting environmental emission standards, and has been dedicated to the resource- based treatment of local municipal solid waste in Kunshan.
Weiming has been engaged in the waste incineration treatment sector since 1998, accumulating over 20 years of expertise in the environmental protection industry. The company has invested in, constructed, and operated nearly 100 environmental projects under the BOT model. Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Ministry of Finance (MOF) introduced a new Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mechanism, emphasizing adherence to the original intent and essence of such collaborations, encouraging maximum participation of private enterprises in new (including renovated and expanded) PPP projects. Solid waste treatment projects have been explicitly categorized as projects to be solely owned or controlled by private enterprises. Against this policy backdrop, coinciding with the signing of the Kunshan Renewable Resource Comprehensive Utilization Project, Weiming will leverage its extensive experience in waste treatment project construction and operation to meet the expectations of local government authorities. The company will execute the project to high standards, ensure efficient operations, and continue delivering high-quality environmental governance services to Kunshan.
