On the morning of November 17, during the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesian President Joko Widodo met with Chinese entrepreneurs. Xiang Guangming, Chairman of Weiming Environment Protection, attended the meeting and engaged in a handshake and conversation with President Joko.
President Joko stated that as representatives of major developing countries and emerging market economies, China and Indonesia have increasingly strengthened their cooperative relationship and economic ties. He expressed gratitude to the entrepreneurs for their significant contributions to Indonesia’s economic and social development. President Joko emphasized Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining mutual respect and mutually beneficial cooperation, urging entrepreneurs to deepen their roots in Indonesia to achieve shared success.
In January this year, the company entered the new energy sector by partnering with Merit International Capital Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Merit”) to invest in a laterite nickel ore smelting project in Indonesia, targeting an annual output of 40,000 tons of nickel metal in high-grade nickel matte. This project marked Weiming’s debut in the new energy field and its first investment in Indonesia. To date, the company’s high-grade nickel matte projects in Indonesia have reached a total annual capacity of 130,000 tons of nickel metal. On September 28, the first high-ice nickel project commenced construction. Weiming will further advance these projects to contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative.
