During the dinner, Premier Li Qiang engaged in a cordial conversation with Chairman Xiang Guangming. The Premier inquired about Weiming Environment Protection’s waste-to-energy (WTE) incineration power generation business. Chairman Xiang explained that WTE is a core focus of the company, which has achieved significant growth in recent years. He also noted Weiming’s collaborations with industry leaders such as Tsingshan, GEM, Sunwoda, and Chengtun Mining to expand into the new energy materials sector. Premier Li acknowledged Weiming’s proactive efforts in developing new materials and its overseas market strategy, encouraging the company to continue advancing steadily in both environmental protection and new energy fields.
Since 2022, Weiming has invested in three high-grade nickel matte projects in Indonesia, with a combined annual production capacity of 130,000 tons of nickel metal in nickel matte and a total planned investment of approximately US$1.3 billion. The Jiaman High-Grade Nickel Matte Project, with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons of nickel metal, has completed the main plant’s roof installation and entered the equipment installation phase. Weiming is also involved in the construction of Indonesia’s QMB Hydrometallurgical Nickel Project and plans to further collaborate with Indonesia on environmental initiatives.
