On November 1, Chairman Xiang Guangming led a delegation of senior executives to Indonesia for technical and cooperation exchanges, visiting projects including Zhongwei Indonesia Morowali Industrial Base, QMB Hydrometallurgical Project and Jiaman High-Nickel Matte Project.
At the Zhongwei Indonesia Morowali Industrial Base, located in the Tsingshan Industrial Park on Sulawesi Island, the park director and Zhongwei project team warmly welcomed Chairman Xiang’s delegation and provided a full tour of the production facilities. The project is currently in trial production, utilizing an oxygen-enriched side-blown process to convert laterite nickel ore into high-nickel matte with stable and continuous operational performance.
Weiming Environment Protection’s Jiaman High-Grade Nickel Matte Project, located in the Tsingshan Weda Bay Industrial Park, also employs the oxygen-enriched side-blown process, which has undergone multiple technical optimizations to further enhance its efficiency. This inspection reaffirmed Weiming’s strategic focus on technological innovation and prompted immediate mobilization of resources to accelerate project construction.
At GEM’s QMB Project, Chairman Xiang met with Professor Xu Kaihua, Chairman of GEM. The QMB Project is a key overseas client for Weiming’s new energy material equipment. Hundreds of Weiming personnel are currently onsite managing equipment delivery and installation. GEM has consistently praised Weiming’s technical expertise, execution efficiency, and cost control. Building on mutual trust, the two companies have expanded collaborations both domestically and internationally.
The Jiaman Project, Weiming’s first high-grade nickel matte investment in Indonesia, is situated in the Tsingshan Weda Bay Industrial Park, with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons of nickel metal. Equipment installation is now underway. Chairman Xiang briefed senior executives from South Korea’s ECOPRO (including CEO Song Haojun and Executive Director Lee Seung-hwan) and Professor Xu Kaihua on the project’s progress, production processes, and technical features. ECOPRO lauded Weiming’s strategic positioning in new energy materials, while Mr. Xiang Binghe, Director of Tsingshan Weda Bay Industrial Park, commended the project’s rapid construction pace and management model.
On November 3, Chairman Xiang, ECOPRO’s CEO Song Haojun, Executive Director Lee Seung-hwan, and Professor Xu Kaihua held in-depth discussions at GEM’s Jakarta office on new material development strategies and partnerships.
During the visit, Chairman Xiang also engaged in friendly exchanges with local Indonesian partners in Jakarta, visited Weiming staff at the QMB Project, Jiaman Project, and Jakarta office, and expressed concern for their overseas work and living conditions. He emphasized the importance of logistical support and urged the overseas team to prioritize safety while ensuring high-quality project delivery.
