On June 13, Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, visited Tsinghua University, where he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor. He also delivered a keynote speech titled "Indonesia’s Economic Transformation: The 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision." Chairman Xiang Guangming was invited to witness the conferment ceremony.
In his keynote speech, Luhut elaborated on Indonesia’s national development strategy, emphasizing the continuous advancement of new energy and environmental industries, as well as the deepening of Indonesia-China cooperation. He also highlighted that Tsinghua University is a world-renowned institution and expressed his hope for closer collaboration in scientific research and talent development. Additionally, he stated that Indonesia will encourage and support more young people to pursue further studies in China.
Indonesia is the first international destination for Weiming Environment Protection’s global expansion. Minister Luhut has met with Chairman Xiang Guangming multiple times, fostering a strong friendship between them. He has expressed his welcome for Weiming’s investment in new energy projects in Indonesia, as well as its contribution to the country through the transfer of environmental technology and equipment.
Currently, the company has invested in three high-grade nickel matte projects in Indonesia. The first project, the Jiaman New Energy Project, is scheduled to begin trial production in the third quarter.
